Sealing: Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before installation and regularly thereafter. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to grouting and re-seal every 12–18 months in wet areas such as showers, and every 2–3 years in dry applications. Pale ivory travertine is particularly susceptible to staining and should be sealed thoroughly.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop. Never use acidic cleaners such as vinegar, lemon-based products, or bleach — acids will etch and dull the honed surface. Avoid abrasive scrubbers. Wipe spills promptly, especially from coffee, wine, and citrus, which can stain the porous stone.

Installation: Use white or ivory unsanded thinset mortar to avoid gray bleed-through on this light-toned stone. Back-butter each tile for full adhesion and to minimize lippage. Fill natural voids in the tile surface with grout or void filler before or during installation. Use a non-sanded grout for joints up to 1/8 inch; sanded grout for wider joints. Allow tiles to acclimate to room temperature before installing.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
