Sealing: Ivory Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and use. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation, and reseal every 12–18 months in wet areas such as showers and around sinks. The open pits of tumbled travertine can absorb stains and moisture more readily than honed or polished surfaces, so consistent sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products), bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch the stone surface and degrade the sealer. Wipe up spills — especially oils, wine, and acidic liquids — promptly to prevent staining.

Installation: Use white or ivory unsanded thinset mortar to prevent dark adhesive from showing through the naturally porous stone. Back-butter each tile to ensure full coverage and eliminate voids beneath the pitted surface. Use unsanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch or sanded grout for wider joints; a grout color closely matching the tile tone will create a seamless, natural look. Fill natural pits with grout or travertine filler prior to sealing for a smoother finish, or leave unfilled for a more rustic character.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
