Sealing: Nero Marquina marble should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and resealed every 12–18 months, or more frequently in wet areas such as bathrooms. Despite its dark color, it is still porous and susceptible to moisture penetration and staining without proper sealing.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based products), alkaline degreasers, and abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the polished surface. Wipe spills — especially acidic liquids like wine, coffee, and citrus — immediately to prevent etching or staining.

Installation: Use a white or light gray polymer-modified thinset to avoid any bleed-through on light veining areas; dark-colored thinset is acceptable but white is preferred to protect veining clarity. Back-butter each tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full coverage and eliminate voids beneath this large-format tile. Use a 3/16" to 1/4" notched trowel and maintain consistent joint widths; unsanded grout is suitable for joints under 1/8", while sanded grout should be used for wider joints.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
