Sealing: Noce Travertine is a porous sedimentary stone and must be sealed before grouting and regularly thereafter. In wet areas such as showers, apply a penetrating stone sealer every 12 months; in drier applications such as fireplace surrounds, re-seal every 2–3 years. The honed finish is slightly more absorbent than a polished surface, making thorough initial sealing especially important.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based), alkaline degreasers, and abrasive scrubbing pads — all will etch or dull the honed surface and degrade the sealant. Wipe up spills promptly, particularly oils, wine, and acidic liquids that can stain the warm-toned stone.

Installation: Use a white or beige polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid telegraphing through the stone's lighter areas. Back-butter each piece fully to ensure 100% coverage behind the carved profile and prevent hollow spots. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch and sanded grout for wider joints; ensure the grout color complements the stone's warm brown-gold palette. Allow mortar to fully cure before applying sealer.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
