Sealing: Antico Onyx Travertine must be sealed before grouting and upon installation with a premium penetrating impregnating sealer rated for porous natural stone. The unfilled surface has open voids and a brushed texture that increase porosity significantly — reseal every 12 months in bathrooms and kitchens, and every 18–24 months in dry interior areas. A color-enhancing sealer is recommended to deepen and protect the amber and walnut tones.

Cleaning: Clean exclusively with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted per manufacturer instructions. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus, or grout haze removers), alkaline degreasers, or abrasive scrubbing pads, as travertine is calcium-based and highly vulnerable to etching. The brushed and unfilled surface can trap grit — sweep or vacuum regularly before mopping to prevent micro-scratching.

Installation: Use a polymer-modified white or warm-toned thinset mortar to avoid gray bleed-through in the unfilled voids. Back-butter all pieces thoroughly in addition to applying thinset to the substrate, as the multi-size Versailles pieces include larger format tiles that require full coverage to prevent lippage. Use sanded grout matched to the stone's warm tones, or leave voids unfilled for an authentic dry-laid antique look — consult your installer for the appropriate grout joint width based on the chiseled edge profile. Allow full cure before sealing.

Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
