The Glasstel North Sea 1×2 Pool Tile Series is a premium vitreous glass tile line purpose-built for swimming pools, spas, fountains, and wet-area installations. Drawing its color story from the cool blue-green depths of the North Sea, each tile delivers a luminous, jewel-like surface that transforms any pool or water feature into a stunning focal point.

Mounted on mesh-backing in a classic brick-joint layout, these glass tiles are straightforward to install across both flat and curved surfaces, making large aquatic projects manageable without sacrificing a high-end result. The smooth vitreous glass finish is inherently non-porous and frost-resistant, offering exceptional durability in chlorinated, saltwater, and outdoor environments.

The North Sea series is ideal for in-ground pool interiors, raised spa shells, infinity edge walls, outdoor showers, and decorative water features — as well as interior kitchen backsplashes and bathroom accent walls. Because glass tile colors can shift subtly between production lots, we strongly recommend ordering your full project quantity at one time and requesting a sample before committing to a large order.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Vitreous glass tile does not require sealing — the non-porous glass body is impervious to water, chlorine, and staining. Grout joints should be sealed with a penetrating grout sealer upon installation and resealed annually in pool and spa environments to prevent algae infiltration and discoloration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner or diluted white vinegar solution for light calcium or mineral deposits. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or scouring pads, which can scratch the glossy surface. For pool tile scale buildup, use a dedicated pool tile descaler applied carefully to grout lines; do not use harsh acid cleaners directly on glass faces.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset or pool-rated epoxy adhesive — avoid gray thinset, which can bleed through translucent glass and alter perceived color. Apply non-sanded grout for the narrow joints between 1×2 chips. Align mesh sheets carefully edge-to-edge before setting to maintain consistent joint spacing. For submerged pool installations, use an epoxy grout rated for full immersion to ensure long-term bond integrity.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
