Honey Onyx Hexagon Mosaic1 × 1 Hexagon Polished

Honey, amber and ivory onyx in 1 × 1 inch hexagon chips, polished and pre-arranged on a mesh-backed sheet.

Honey Onyx is a translucent natural stone in amber, gold and caramel, streaked with ivory. The polished face of each hexagon catches light and shows the depth of the stone.

The chips come pre-arranged in a honeycomb pattern on a mesh-backed 12 × 12 inch sheet, about one square foot each. It suits indoor walls and backsplashes, where the glow can be seen up close. Sold per sheet.

Color runs from pale champagne to deep amber, and V3 variation means chips differ noticeably within a sheet. Samples are $7.99 each, up to 10 per order. Samples ship free. Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Onyx is porous and relatively soft. Seal before grouting and again after installation. In wet areas, reseal every 6–12 months with a penetrating stone sealer.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid vinegar, lemon-based products, bleach and abrasive pads, which can etch the polish. Wipe up spills quickly.

Expect This

Chips vary in color and veining, from pale champagne to deep amber. Polished onyx can show etching and wear over time.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

What setting materials suit this mosaic?

White polymer-modified thinset keeps gray mortar from showing through the translucent chips. Non-sanded grout suits the narrow joints and protects the polished surface. Seal the stone before grouting.

How much should I order?

Each sheet covers about 1 sq ft, so you can estimate your area directly in sheets. Add 10% for cuts and waste, and order it all at once. Mosaics ship free on orders over $1,999 within the continental U.S.

Can I use it on a floor?

Use it on walls and backsplashes, where the polished stone looks its best and wears gently. Polished onyx is slippery and scratch-prone underfoot, so we suggest a different tile for floors.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
