Nero Marquina Marble2 × 2 Polished Mosaic

Jet-black Nero Marquina marble in polished 2 × 2 chips, with white veins that run bold in some pieces and barely show in others.

Nero Marquina is a deep black marble with white veining. This mosaic sets 2 × 2 inch polished chips on a mesh-backed sheet, so a full grid goes up at once. The polished face reflects light and sharpens the contrast between black ground and white vein.

Chips differ from one to the next. Some are nearly solid black. Others carry a sharp white vein or a cloudy gray patch. The shade variation is slight (V2). Polished marble can etch, so seal it and wipe spills promptly.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Use a penetrating, pH-neutral stone sealer before grouting and again after installation. Reapply about every 12 months in moist areas and every 2 years in dry areas such as backsplashes.

Clean It

Wipe with warm water or a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth. Skip vinegar, lemon-based products, bleach and abrasive scrubbers.

Expect This

Acidic spills can etch the polished surface and leave dull marks, so wipe them up quickly. Vein and tone vary from chip to chip.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

How is this mosaic sold?

You order it per sheet. Each sheet is 12 × 12 inches with 2 × 2 inch chips on a mesh backing. Mosaics ship free on orders over $1,999.

Does Nero Marquina need sealing?

Sealing helps protect the polished surface and keeps the stone easier to maintain. Use a penetrating, pH-neutral stone sealer before grouting and after installation. The dark color hides stains, but the stone is still porous.

Can I use it on a floor?

It is listed for indoor floor and wall use, and a low-traffic floor such as a powder room is a good fit. For shower floors or heavy traffic, check with us before you order.

How do I order a sample?

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
