Amber Falls Quartzite is a premium natural stone celebrated for its layered, warm-toned palette of golden amber, burnt sienna, and deep chocolate brown, sourced from ancient quartzite formations. The split-face finish reveals the stone's natural cleavage planes, producing a richly textured, dimensional surface unlike any manufactured product.

Each 6×24 panel is assembled with hand-stacked quartzite pieces mounted on a mesh backing, creating a linear stacked pattern with authentic relief depth. Sealing: Quartzite is denser than marble but still porous and should be sealed before grouting and annually thereafter, especially for exterior installations exposed to the elements. Apply a penetrating impregnator sealer rated for natural stone; for exterior use, choose a sealer with UV and freeze-thaw protection to guard against efflorescence and staining.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap diluted in warm water and a soft-bristle brush to reach into the crevices of the split-face texture. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus), bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these can degrade the stone surface and compromise the sealer over time; for exterior panels, a gentle low-pressure rinse is effective for routine maintenance.

Installation: Use a polymer-modified gray or tan thinset mortar appropriate for natural stone — back-butter each panel fully to ensure complete coverage behind the irregular split-face pieces, eliminating voids that could trap moisture. Allow a 1/16" to 1/8" spacing between panels for grout joints and use unsanded or sanded grout depending on joint width; for exterior applications, use a flexible, frost-resistant mortar and grout to accommodate thermal movement. Always dry-lay panels before setting to balance color and texture distribution across the wall.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
