Sealing: Travertine is a porous natural stone and must be sealed prior to installation and grouting. Apply a penetrating stone sealer and reseal every 12 months in wet areas such as showers — or every 1–2 years in drier applications like backsplashes. The honed finish, while less reflective than polished, is still susceptible to staining and should be sealed thoroughly.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft cloth or mop. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products), alkaline degreasers, and abrasive scrubbing pads, as these will etch and dull the honed surface over time. Wipe up spills — especially wine, coffee, and citrus juices — promptly to prevent staining.

Installation: Use white thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the light ivory stone. Apply non-sanded grout for the tight 1×1 joints to achieve clean, uniform lines. Align mesh sheets carefully edge-to-edge and maintain consistent spacing between sheets. Fill natural travertine voids with grout during grouting, or pre-fill with matching epoxy filler before installation for a cleaner result. Back-butter individual sheets for improved adhesion on floors.

Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
