Sealing: Rosso Levanto, like all natural marble, is a porous stone that requires sealing before use and regular maintenance thereafter. Apply a high-quality penetrating stone sealer prior to grouting and reseal every 12 months in standard conditions, or every 6 months in wet areas such as bathrooms. The deep red pigmentation of the stone means that staining may not be immediately visible, but consistent sealing is still essential to protect against moisture infiltration and long-term damage.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water, and dry the surface promptly to prevent water spotting on the polished finish. Never use acidic cleaners such as vinegar, citrus-based products, or grout haze removers containing acid, as these will etch the polished surface and dull the stone's natural luster. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads that can scratch the mirror finish.

Installation: Use a white or gray polymer-modified thinset mortar — avoid dark or black thinset, which can bleed through or alter the stone's color at the joints. Back-butter each tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full coverage and eliminate hollow spots, especially important for polished marble floors. Use a 3/16" to 1/4" notched trowel and allow tiles to acclimate to room temperature before installation. Select a sanded or unsanded grout based on your joint width, and seal grout lines after curing for added protection.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
