Sealing: Gold Travertine is a porous natural stone and must be sealed before grouting and use. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 12 months in dry areas, or every 6 months in wet areas such as showers and around pools. The tumbled finish is especially absorbent due to its open pore structure, so thorough sealer penetration is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or cloth. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus, or grout haze removers) or alkaline degreasers, as these will etch and discolor the stone surface. Blot spills immediately — particularly oils, wine, and citrus juices — to prevent staining in the open pores characteristic of tumbled travertine.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid color bleed-through on this lighter stone. Fill travertine's natural voids either before installation with grout or epoxy filler, or after grouting. For shower floors, use non-sanded grout for the narrow joints between 1×1 chips. Align mesh sheets carefully, butting edges flush to maintain consistent joint spacing. Back-butter individual sheets in areas with uneven substrate for full adhesion.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
