The Rockefeller Grey Nouveau mosaic brings together Imperial Grey marble — a deep charcoal stone with elegant white and silver veining quarried in Asia — and warm brass metal inlays in an Art Nouveau-inspired decorative pattern that channels the opulence of early 20th-century design. The result is a mosaic tile that functions simultaneously as architectural surface and decorative artwork, commanding attention wherever it is installed.

Each sheet showcases polished Imperial Grey marble chips whose mirror-like finish intensifies the stone's smoky depth and vein contrast, set alongside gleaming brass elements that introduce a layer of warmth and dimensionality. The mesh backing holds the entire composition in precise alignment, allowing installers to lay complete sheets efficiently while maintaining the integrity of the intricate Nouveau pattern.

This mosaic is best suited for interior wall applications including bathroom feature walls, vanity backsplashes, shower niches, fireplace surrounds, and luxury kitchen backsplashes where moisture resistance and visual drama are equally important. Because this is a clearance or specialty item, ordering a sample to verify color match in your specific lighting conditions is strongly recommended before committing to a full order.

Free Shipping: As a mosaic, this product qualifies for free curbside shipping on orders over $1,999 within the continental U.S. Orders below that threshold ship at standard rates calculated at checkout.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Imperial Grey marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer prior to grouting and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes. Pale veining within dark marble can be particularly prone to absorbing oils and soap residue, so do not skip the initial sealing step. Brass inlays do not require sealing but should be protected from harsh chemicals that can tarnish the metal finish.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water using a soft microfiber cloth or sponge — never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based products), bleach, or abrasive scrubbing pads on this mosaic. The polished marble surface is especially susceptible to etching from acids and will show water spots and soap film more readily than honed stone; wipe dry after each use in wet areas. For the brass elements, avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners which can strip or discolor the metal finish.

Installation: Use bright-white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through that could shadow the polished marble chips from behind; back-butter each sheet in addition to applying thinset to the substrate for full coverage. Use non-sanded grout in a color that complements both the dark stone and the brass — a mid-grey or charcoal grout is recommended to let the brass elements stand out. Align mesh sheets carefully before setting, as the Nouveau pattern requires consistent sheet-to-sheet registration; dry-lay several sheets on the floor first to confirm the pattern flow before committing to adhesive.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order 10% overage for cuts, waste, and future repairs. Tile & Mosaic Depot specialists are available M–F 8:30AM–5PM PST at 855-797-8453.

Product & Installation Guidance

Natural stone is a product of the earth — every piece is one of a kind. A little planning ensures your finished installation looks its best and lasts for decades.

Natural Variation
Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

  • Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
  • Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.

Responsibility
Tile & Mosaic Depot is not responsible for improper installation, labor costs, substrate conditions, product misuse, or damage from improper handling, sealing, maintenance, or harsh chemicals. No claims, returns, or replacements can be accepted on installed material.

California Proposition 65: Some natural stone products contain substances known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Order a Sample First

Seeing real stone in your own space — under your own light, beside your own finishes — is the best way to buy with confidence. We make it easy and affordable.

How It Works
Samples are just $7.99 each with free shipping, and they ship in 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability, typically ranging from 3"×3" up to 8"×8". Exact dimensions aren't guaranteed, but every sample is cut from the same material you'll receive in a full order.

What a Sample Shows
Samples help you evaluate the general color, texture, finish, and overall character of a product before committing to a full order. Because natural stone varies from piece to piece, your sample is representative — it may not capture the complete range of variation across an entire lot. For current lot photos, just ask our team.
