Sahara Sahel Crystal SandBasket Weave with Thassos, Polished

A basket-weave marble mosaic in soft sand and greige, with a small white Thassos square at each joint.

Rectangles of Crystal Sand interlock in a basket weave, with a small Thassos White square at every joint. Fine linear veining runs through the sand-toned stone in soft brown and grey. The polished surface catches light and adds pattern without noise.

Mesh-backed sheets suit a kitchen backsplash, a bath wall or a feature wall, where the polish and the weave can be seen up close. Mosaic orders over $1,999 ship free.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Seal with a penetrating natural stone sealer before grouting. Reseal regularly, and about every 12 months in wet areas. Pale stone stains easily from oils, soap scum and hard water.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Wipe spills quickly. Avoid vinegar, citrus, alkaline degreasers and abrasive scrubbers, which can dull the polish.

Expect This

Tone, veining and crystal density vary from sheet to sheet. That is normal for natural marble. Lay out several sheets together before you set them.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Can I use this mosaic in a shower?

Yes, it is listed for indoor shower surround walls, so it works on the walls and in a niche. Seal it before grouting. Shower floors are not listed for this mosaic, so check with us before using it there.

How much should I order?

Measure your area and add 10% for cuts and waste. Place the full order at once so every sheet comes from the same lot.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth. Skip acidic cleaners such as vinegar or citrus, since acid etches polished marble.

Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
