Sealing: Bianco Congelato, like all white marbles, is a porous stone that requires thorough sealing before grouting and after installation. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for natural stone and reapply every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes. The leathered finish is slightly more resistant to surface staining than a polished finish, but sealing is still essential to protect the stone from oils and acidic liquids.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft microfiber cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia-based cleaners, or any acidic or alkaline products, as these will etch and dull the marble surface. The leathered finish is more forgiving of water spots than polished marble but should still be wiped dry after wet use to prevent mineral buildup.

Installation: Always use white polymer-modified thinset when installing pale marble mosaics — grey thinset can bleed through and discolor the stone permanently. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch to prevent scratching the leathered surface. Back-butter each sheet lightly in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Align mesh sheets carefully, checking that the herringbone direction is consistent across all sheets before pressing into place.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
