Sealing: Statuario marble must be sealed before installation and resealed every 6–12 months, especially in areas exposed to humidity or outdoor elements. The porous split-face surface has greater absorption than a polished or honed face, making a penetrating impregnating sealer — applied in multiple coats — essential to protect against staining and moisture intrusion.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft-bristle brush to reach the textured recesses of the split-face surface. Never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the marble's surface and degrade the sealer. Avoid prolonged standing water in the textured channels.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the bright white marble surface. Back-butter each corner unit thoroughly and press firmly to ensure full contact across the irregular split-face projections. Allow adequate open time for adjustment and use non-sanded or sanded grout depending on joint width; consult your tile installer about joint spacing to accommodate the natural variation in strip thickness.
