A honed grey limestone with fine fossil detail, in a 12 × 24 field tile for indoor floors and walls.

Nova Grey is a limestone in cool mid-grey, soft charcoal and taupe tones, with small fossil inclusions and gentle, cloud-like movement. It reads quieter than a veined marble. The honed finish keeps the surface matte and soft in the light.

The 12 × 24 format laid in a stack or offset pattern means fewer grout joints. Limestone is porous, so plan to seal it before installation and again after grouting. Expect moderate (V3) variation in tone and fossil pattern from tile to tile.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating stone sealer before installation and again after grouting. Limestone is porous and can stain without sealing. In wet areas, reapply every 12–18 months.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner in warm water with a soft mop or microfiber cloth. Avoid vinegar, citrus products, alkaline degreasers and abrasive pads, which can etch the honed surface.

Expect This

Tone, fossil pattern and surface texture will vary from tile to tile. Wipe up coffee, wine and oil quickly. Mix tiles from several boxes as you lay them.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Does Nova Grey Limestone need to be sealed?

Yes. Seal it with a penetrating stone sealer before installation and again after grouting. Limestone is porous, so sealing helps protect it from moisture and stains.

Can I use it outdoors?

It works well on indoor floors and walls. It is not rated for freeze-thaw or exterior use, so choose a different product for outdoor spaces.

How do I order a sample?

You can add up to 10 samples to one order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days.

What setting material should I use?

A white polymer-modified thinset keeps grey from showing through this lighter stone. Back-butter each tile as well as troweling the substrate to help get full coverage on the large format.

Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
