Sealing: Pietra Gray marble should be sealed with a penetrating impregnator sealer before installation and re-sealed every 12 months in dry areas, or every 6 months in wet areas such as shower surrounds. While darker stones show fewer stains than white marbles, the polished surface remains porous and benefits greatly from consistent sealing to prevent moisture infiltration and surface dulling.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a diluted mild dish soap and warm water — never use vinegar, lemon-based cleaners, bleach, or any acid-based products, as these will etch the polished surface and cause permanent dullness. Wipe up spills immediately, especially from coffee, wine, or citrus juices. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the high-gloss finish; use only soft microfiber cloths or mops.

Installation: Use a large-format large-format tile trowel (½" × ½" square-notch or larger) and a high-quality gray or charcoal unsanded polymer-modified thinset mortar to complement the stone's dark tones. Back-butter each tile fully to achieve 95%+ mortar coverage and prevent hollow spots beneath the large slab. Use leveling clips and a rubber mallet during installation to ensure a perfectly flat, lippage-free surface. Allow a minimum 3/16" grout joint; use an unsanded or lightly sanded grout in a coordinating gray tone. Do not install over substrates with flex or deflection.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
