Why Statuario mosaics
Statuario marble — including the Asian Statuary (Oriental White) variety — is prized for its brilliant white background and bold, defined gray veining, more dramatic than the soft veining of Carrara. In mosaic form, that crisp white-and-gray contrast reads as elegant, high-end detail, with each pattern carrying its own movement. Mesh-backed sheets install as whole pieces that line up automatically, and the many grout lines add slip resistance for shower floors.

Care & coverage: Statuario is genuine marble and porous — seal it, clean only with pH-neutral products, and avoid acidic cleaners that etch marble. Set with a white thinset so the bonding layer doesn't show through the light stone. Veining varies naturally from sheet to sheet; order a sample and blend sheets from multiple boxes. Mosaics are sold by the sheet, so confirm coverage when estimating.
