Sealing: Statuario is a relatively porous white marble that requires sealing before grouting and installation. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 12 months in dry areas, or every 6 months in wet areas such as showers. Because of its white ground, any unsealed penetration from oils or colored liquids will be highly visible.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop — never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus), bleach, or abrasive scrubbing pads. The honed finish, while more forgiving of water spots than polished marble, is still susceptible to etching from acidic substances such as wine, juice, or harsh household cleaners. Wipe spills immediately.

Installation: Use a bright white polymer-modified thinset adhesive to prevent show-through on this light-colored stone. Back-butter each tile for full coverage, especially when setting in wet areas. For grout joints of 1/16″ to 1/8″, use a non-sanded or fine-sanded white grout. Allow tiles to acclimate to the installation environment and blend tiles from multiple boxes during installation to naturally distribute any shade variation.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
