Sealing: Statuario marble must be sealed before grouting and regularly thereafter. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, re-seal every 6–12 months with a penetrating stone sealer to protect against moisture intrusion and staining. The bright white ground of Statuario is particularly susceptible to discoloration from oils, wine, and hard water — consistent sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the polished surface permanently. The high-gloss finish will show water spots and soap residue more readily — wipe dry after each use in wet areas and address spills immediately.

Installation: Use a premium white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent gray bleed-through on this pale stone. Large 24×24 tiles require back-buttering in addition to full trowel coverage on the substrate to achieve proper bond and eliminate lippage. Use a large-format tile leveling system to ensure a flat installation. Maintain a minimum 1/16-inch grout joint and choose a non-sanded or fine-sanded white grout to complement the stone's color. Ensure the substrate is flat to within 1/8 inch over 10 feet before installing.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
