The DC Metro Cleveland Park mosaic brings together two of the world's most coveted marbles — the snow-white brilliance of Greek Thassos and the classic grey-veined elegance of Italian Bianco Carrara — in a striking geometric pattern designed for modern luxury interiors.

Finished to a high polish, each chip maximizes the natural luminosity of both stones, and the mesh-backed sheet format ensures straightforward, precise installation with consistent joint spacing right out of the box. The metro-style layout creates strong horizontal lines that lend movement and architectural interest to backsplashes, shower walls, and feature surfaces.

Ideal for kitchen backsplashes, master bath shower surrounds, and powder room accent walls, this mosaic is best suited for wall applications; sealing is strongly recommended before grouting to protect these pale, porous stones. As a clearance or specialty item, ordering a sample is recommended to confirm color and finish before purchasing full quantities.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Both Thassos White and Bianco Carrara are highly porous, light-colored marbles that require thorough sealing before grouting and installation. Apply a penetrating stone sealer rated for marble, and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes to prevent staining and moisture penetration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft, non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, lemon-based products, and bleach, as these will etch and dull the polished surface — Thassos White in particular is highly susceptible to etching and spotting from everyday kitchen acids and hard water.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through beneath the bright Thassos chips. Non-sanded grout is recommended for the narrow mosaic joints to prevent scratching the polished surface. Align mesh sheets carefully during installation to maintain consistent joint spacing, and back-butter individual sheets for improved adhesion on wall applications.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
