Sealing: Seal this Scabos travertine molding with a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and re-seal every 12 months in wet areas such as showers. Travertine's natural porosity and open voids make consistent sealing essential to prevent staining and moisture absorption, especially given the warm, light tones of this stone.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge only. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, lemon-based products, and abrasive scrubbers, which will etch and dull the polished surface. Wipe spills promptly, particularly oils, wine, and citrus, which can penetrate travertine voids quickly.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset to prevent dark adhesive from telegraphing through the stone's natural voids and lighter tones. Apply thinset with back-buttering to ensure full coverage behind the molding profile. Use non-sanded grout for tight joints and ensure the molding is level and flush with adjacent field tiles before the thinset sets. Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
