Sealing: Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and after installation. Apply a penetrating (impregnating) sealer rated for travertine, and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers. The polished finish does not reduce porosity, so sealing is essential to prevent staining and moisture infiltration in this warm-toned stone.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus), alkaline degreasers, or abrasive scrubbers — acids will etch the polished surface of travertine quickly, dulling its sheen and potentially discoloring the stone. Wipe spills promptly, especially oils, coffee, and wine.

Installation: Use a white or ivory polymer-modified thinset to avoid any gray bleed-through on lighter grout joints. For pencil liners, apply thinset with a notched trowel to the wall surface and back-butter each piece individually for full contact. Use non-sanded grout for the narrow joints typical of pencil liner installations, and ensure all trim pieces are level and consistently spaced using tile spacers or painter's tape during cure.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
