Sealing: Walnut Travertine pool coping must be sealed with a high-quality penetrating (impregnating) stone sealer rated for outdoor and wet environments before installation and again after grouting. In pool and spa applications exposed to pool chemicals, UV, and moisture, re-seal every 12–18 months or as soon as water no longer beads on the surface. The travertine's natural voids should be filled with grout or a void filler prior to sealing to prevent water infiltration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in water; never use acidic cleaners such as vinegar, citrus-based products, or muriatic acid, as acid will etch and dissolve the travertine surface. Avoid harsh alkaline degreasers as well. For pool environments, monitor that pool water chemistry (particularly pH and chlorine levels) stays within recommended ranges, as imbalanced pool water can gradually etch and deteriorate unsealed stone.

Installation: Use a polymer-modified, exterior-rated thinset mortar appropriate for natural stone; for pale or cream-toned pieces, opt for a gray or beige thinset to avoid bleed-through. Back-butter each coping piece fully given the 5cm thickness and large format. Ensure the pool bond beam or substrate is level, waterproofed, and fully cured before setting. Leave appropriate expansion joints at corners and transitions. Slope coping slightly (1/8 inch per foot) away from the pool edge for proper drainage.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
