Sealing: Calacatta Viola, like all white and pale marbles, is particularly susceptible to staining and must be sealed before grouting and after installation. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer and re-seal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors. The bright white background will show staining more readily than darker stones, so consistent sealing is strongly recommended.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline products, as these will etch and permanently dull the polished surface. Wipe spills immediately, especially wine, coffee, and citrus juices, to prevent staining. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads that can scratch the polished finish.

Installation: Use a premium white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray show-through on this pale stone. For mosaic joints of this size (3-inch hex), a non-sanded or fine-sanded white grout is recommended. Lay mesh sheets on a flat, level substrate and press firmly with a grout float to ensure full contact. Back-butter any individual chips that lift during installation. Allow thinset to fully cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
