Sealing: Crema Marfil is a moderately porous marble that should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and after installation. In wet areas such as showers, reapply sealer every 12 months to prevent moisture absorption, staining, and discoloration. As a pale, warm-toned stone, it is particularly susceptible to oil- and water-based stains, so prompt sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a few drops of dish soap in warm water — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, as these will etch the polished surface and cause permanent dull spots. Wipe up spills immediately, especially acidic substances like wine, coffee, or citrus juice. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the high-gloss finish.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on this pale stone. Apply grout with non-sanded or unsanded grout for the tight joints typical of a 1×3 mosaic. Align mesh sheets carefully, maintaining consistent joint spacing between sheets for a seamless herringbone flow. Back-butter individual chips if tiles lift from the mesh during cutting or handling.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
