Sealing: Crema Marfil is a relatively porous marble and should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and installation. In wet areas such as showers and bathrooms, reseal every 6–12 months to protect against moisture penetration and staining. The light cream color makes this stone especially susceptible to discoloration from oils, soaps, and hard water, so consistent sealing is strongly recommended.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop — never use acidic cleaners such as vinegar, lemon-based products, or any cleaner containing bleach, as these will etch and dull the polished surface. The high-gloss polished finish is particularly sensitive to acidic substances, hard water deposits, and abrasive scrubbing pads; wipe spills immediately to prevent etching or staining.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on this light-colored stone. Back-butter each piece individually before setting to ensure full adhesion and prevent hollow spots. Use non-sanded grout in a matching cream or ivory tone for tight joints, and ensure the wall surface is plumb and flat before installation for a clean, continuous baseboard line. Miter cuts at corners should be made with a wet saw fitted with a fine-diamond blade.

Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
