Emperador Dark Spanish Marble1×2 Split Face Mosaic

Dark brown Spanish marble in 1×2 brick pieces, with a rough split face that catches light and shadow.

Emperador Dark runs from deep chocolate to warm tan, crossed with white and rust-colored veining. Here it comes as 1×2 pieces set in an offset brick pattern on a 12×12 sheet. The split face is rough and uneven, so the wall reads as texture first and color second.

Use it where you want depth: a feature wall, a backsplash, a bath wall away from direct spray. The raised face throws small shadows, which shift as daylight changes. A dark or warm grout keeps the look quiet. A lighter grout will outline each brick.

Order a sample for $7.99 each, up to 10 per order. Samples ship free, within 1-3 business days. Your sample comes from the lot we have in stock now, so it shows that lot's actual color range and finish. Future lots may look lighter, darker, or more veined, so order your full quantity plus 10% at once to keep the whole job from one lot.

Where It Works

Feature WallThe textured face and deep brown tones give a plain wall real presence.
Kitchen BacksplashA dark, veined backdrop behind the range or counter, in a low-splash area.
Bath WallWorks as an accent behind a vanity or tub, away from direct spray.
Entry or Powder Room AccentA small area where the texture can be seen up close.
Floors and Wet AreasThe uneven split face is hard to walk on and hard to clean. Choose a smoother tile for floors, shower floors and pools.
Exteriors and Commercial UseNot confirmed for this product. Ask us before planning these uses.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and again as needed. The split face has more surface to cover, so follow the sealer maker's directions.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft brush to reach the textured face. Avoid acidic cleaners, which can dull marble.

Expect This

Color, veining and texture vary from piece to piece. The surface is uneven by nature, and some pieces carry cream, rust or white patches.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Questions

Will my order match the sample or photos?

Your sample comes from the lot we have in stock now, so it shows that lot's actual color range and finish. Future lots may look lighter, darker, or more veined, so order your full quantity plus 10% at once to keep the whole job from one lot.

What does the split face feel like?

You get a rough, uneven surface with small peaks and shadows, closer to a stacked-stone look than a smooth tile. Order a sample to feel the texture and see how it handles light in your room.

How do samples work?

You can order up to 10 samples per order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days.

How much should I order?

Each sheet covers 1 sq ft. Measure your area, then add 10% for cuts and waste and buy it all at once so the sheets come from one lot.

Does this mosaic qualify for free shipping?

Yes. Mosaic orders over $1,999 ship free.

Why Order a Sample
A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

Good to Know

Samples are final sale — non-returnable and non-refundable.
We recommend sampling before every full order, especially for natural stone.

Talk to a Specialist
Our stone and tile specialists will help you narrow it down. Call (855) 797-8453 or email sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5 PM PT.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Questions Before You Order?
Call (855) 797-8453 or email sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5 PM PT. If you're unsure about freight access at your address, ask us before checkout — we'll flag anything that could hold up delivery.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.

Responsibility
Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. We are not responsible for installation, labor costs, substrate conditions, setting materials, product misuse, or damage from handling, sealing, maintenance, or chemicals. No claims, returns, or replacements are accepted on installed material.

California Proposition 65
Some natural stone and porcelain products contain substances known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Details at www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
