30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Sealing: Seal all natural marble with a penetrating stone sealer before and after installation. Re-seal annually in kitchens and high-use areas. Do not use surface sealers or topical coatings on polished marble.

Cleaning: Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner only. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia-based products — these etch polished marble and permanently damage the surface.

Installation: Use white or light-colored thinset — standard gray thinset can bleed through and alter the tile's appearance. Non-sanded grout is recommended for joints under 1/8 inch. Dry-lay all sheets before setting to confirm pattern alignment. Professional installation recommended.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine marble — not defects. About Emperador Dark Spanish Marble

Material Education

Emperador Dark marble is a metamorphic limestone quarried in the Albacete region of southeastern Spain — one of the world's most historically significant sources of warm dark marble. Its characteristic deep chocolate-brown background results from iron oxide and manganese mineral deposits within the calcium carbonate matrix.

The cream and gold veining is calcite — mineral deposits that formed along natural fractures over millions of years. Shade variation (V3) means veining intensity, pattern, and color density vary between pieces — this is the geological signature of genuine Emperador Dark marble.

Emperador vs Bardiglio: Both are dark European marbles, but Emperador Dark is warm brown while Bardiglio is cool gray. Emperador pairs with warm interiors; Bardiglio suits contemporary, cooler palettes.

Design & Inspiration

Emperador Dark mosaic pairs beautifully with warm brass and bronze fixtures, dark walnut wood cabinetry, cream limestone surrounds, and Thassos White marble accents. The brown palette grounds spaces and creates warmth that white or gray marbles cannot achieve.

For kitchen backsplashes, the 2×4 running bond creates horizontal movement that visually widens the space. For shower feature walls, pair the mosaic with large-format Emperador Dark field tile on adjacent surfaces for a fully coordinated look.

Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
