Sealing: Empress Green Marble must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a penetrating, impregnating stone sealer. Reseal every 12 months in dry areas and every 6 months in wet areas such as showers. Deep-toned green marbles can show watermarks and mineral deposits clearly on the honed surface, making consistent sealing especially important.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners — these will etch the honed surface and dull the finish permanently. Wipe up spills, especially oils and acidic liquids, immediately to prevent staining.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on light veining. Back-butter each tile fully in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure 95%+ coverage and prevent hollow spots in large-format tiles. Use tile leveling clips during installation to maintain a flat plane. A 1/16" to 1/8" grout joint with unsanded or fine-sanded grout is recommended; choose a grout color that complements the stone's veining — charcoal, warm gray, or white all work well.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
