Sealing: Honey Onyx is a porous and relatively soft stone that must be sealed before grouting and again after installation. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer and reapply every 6–12 months in wet areas such as bathrooms and shower surrounds. Because the stone is pale and translucent, any unsealed surface is highly vulnerable to staining.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft, damp cloth — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as acidic or harsh products will etch and dull the polished surface of onyx. Wipe up spills immediately, as the stone's porosity makes it especially susceptible to oil, cosmetic, and water staining.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through showing beneath the translucent stone. Back-butter each molding piece thoroughly to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch and keep grout lines as tight and consistent as possible for the cleanest finish along the wall base.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
