Sealing: Honey Onyx is a porous, soft stone that must be sealed before grouting and regularly maintained. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers. Because of its translucency and pale golden tones, any unsealed areas are highly susceptible to staining from oils, soaps, and minerals — do not skip sealing.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or abrasive scrubs, as these will etch and permanently dull the polished surface of onyx. Wipe up spills immediately, especially anything acidic (wine, juice, coffee), and dry the surface after each shower use to minimize hard-water spotting on the polished chips.

Installation: Use a bright white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on this pale, translucent stone. Apply non-sanded grout for the narrow joints between chips. Back-butter each mesh sheet in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Align mesh sheets carefully before pressing into place, and use a grout float gently to avoid cracking the polished chips.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
