Sealing: Honey Onyx is a porous and relatively soft calcite-based stone that requires thorough sealing before grouting and after installation. Apply a high-quality penetrating sealer designed for onyx or soft marble, and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers. Because of the stone's pale translucency, use a color-enhancing or neutral sealer to avoid altering the natural honey tones.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never use vinegar, citrus-based products, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, as onyx etches and stains very easily. The polished finish is especially susceptible to surface dulling from acidic contact; wipe spills immediately and dry the surface after each use in wet areas. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the high-gloss face.

Installation: Install using white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through showing beneath the semi-translucent stone chips. Use non-sanded grout for the small joints typical of mosaic formats, and select a grout color that complements the warm amber palette — ivory, warm beige, or honey tones work well. Back-butter each sheet lightly in addition to the substrate for full adhesion, and align mesh sheets carefully to maintain consistent fan pattern flow across seams.

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
