Ivory Travertine is a warm-toned natural limestone formed by mineral-rich spring waters, quarried primarily in the classic travertine-producing regions of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Its creamy ivory and beige base is punctuated by soft caramel and tan veining, along with the characteristic voids and pitting that give travertine its unmistakable organic texture. The stone carries a naturally matte, earthy character that evokes timeless Old World architecture.

As a genuine natural stone, each tile will display its own unique blend of tonal variation, vein patterning, and surface texture — slight differences from piece to piece are the hallmark of authentic travertine, not inconsistencies.

Sealing: Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before use and grout installation. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to grouting and reseal every 1–2 years for outdoor applications or annually in wet indoor areas such as kitchens. For pool surrounds, use a sealer rated for wet and chemically exposed environments.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap or mild dish soap diluted in water. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and anything containing bleach, as these will etch and erode travertine's surface. For the tumbled finish, a soft brush can help remove debris from natural surface texture and voids.

Installation: Fill natural voids in travertine pavers with matching travertine filler, non-sanded grout, or epoxy grout before or after installation, particularly for wet or outdoor applications. Use a polymer-modified thinset rated for exterior or large-format tile. For outdoor installations, ensure a proper slope for drainage and use a frost-rated setting bed in cold climates. Maintain a grout joint of at least 1/8 inch to accommodate natural variation in tumbled edges.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
