Sealing: Ivory travertine is a naturally porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and regularly thereafter. Apply a high-quality penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 12 months in dry areas, every 6 months in wet areas such as showers. The irregular split face surface harbors more micro-voids than polished tile, so thorough sealer penetration is especially important.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water using a soft brush or cloth — the textured surface benefits from a soft-bristle brush to dislodge debris from the crevices. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus), alkaline degreasers, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch the stone surface and degrade the sealer. Blot spills immediately, especially oils and acidic liquids.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey bleed-through on the light ivory stone. Apply thinset to the wall and back-butter each sheet lightly to ensure full contact behind the raised cube faces. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch; for wider joints between cubes, sanded grout may be required — confirm joint width on site. Align mesh sheets carefully, staggering cuts naturally to minimize visible seams. Allow full cure before exposing to water.

Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
