The Silk Midori Pencil Bullnose is a slender ceramic trim tile finished in a soft, muted sage green glaze with a satin sheen. Inspired by the gentle tones of Japanese silk and fresh botanicals, it brings a calming, organic color note to any tiled surface.

The smooth satin glaze surface is easy to clean and reflects light softly, adding subtle dimension without visual weight. As a pencil bullnose profile, it installs as a single linear piece to cap raw tile edges, define borders, or create elegant horizontal banding on backsplashes and accent walls.

Ideal for kitchen backsplash borders, bathroom wall accents, and decorative niches, this trim piece is recommended for indoor wall applications only. Sealing: Glazed ceramic does not require sealing. The glaze surface is inherently non-porous and resistant to staining. Grout joints should be sealed with a penetrating grout sealer after installation, particularly in wet areas such as showers, reapplying annually.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar or citrus-based products, which can dull or cloud the satin glaze over time. Harsh scrubbing pads should never be used on glazed surfaces.

Installation: Install using a white polymer-modified thinset to prevent any gray bleed-through beneath the pale glaze. Use non-sanded grout for narrow joints typical of pencil bullnose trim. Ensure the wall substrate is flat and plumb before installation; back-butter each piece for full contact adhesion. Align bullnose pieces carefully for consistent horizontal lines.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
