The SILK Shiro Pencil Bullnose is a sleek ceramic trim tile designed to complement the SILK Shiro field tile collection, offering a polished, professional edge finish in a soft chalky white tone. Its smooth ceramic body delivers consistent color and durability in residential and light commercial settings.

The matte-soft finish diffuses light gently across the surface, lending a calm, luminous quality to any tiled space. The pencil bullnose profile — slim with one rounded, finished edge — creates a seamless visual terminus for backsplash installations, niche edges, and wall transitions without the need for metal trim strips.

This trim piece is best suited for wall and backsplash applications in kitchens, bathrooms, and wet room surrounds. It is not recommended for floor use. As a clearance or coordinating trim item, we recommend ordering a sample to confirm color match with your field tiles before purchasing in full quantity.

Sealing: Ceramic tile does not require sealing. However, grout joints should be sealed with a penetrating grout sealer upon installation and reapplied annually in wet areas such as showers to prevent staining and moisture infiltration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, bleach, or abrasive scrubbing pads, which can dull the matte finish over time. Wipe dry after cleaning in wet areas to prevent hard water buildup.

Installation: Use white thinset mortar to avoid show-through on this light-colored ceramic trim. Apply tile adhesive to both the wall surface and the back of the piece (back-butter) for full contact. Use non-sanded grout for tight grout joints typical of pencil bullnose trim installations. Ensure the rounded bullnose edge faces outward and is fully supported to prevent chipping during setting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Freight Delivery

  • Curbside delivery. The carrier unloads at the curb or driveway nearest your address; delivery does not include moving materials indoors or into a garage.

Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

  • Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
  • Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
