A slim ceramic trim in soft, chalky white that gives tiled edges a clean, rounded finish.

Silk Shiro is a chalky white ceramic with a matte finish. The surface is calm and slightly luminous. Subtle tonal shifts add depth to the white, so a tone-on-tone installation doesn't read as flat.

The pencil bullnose is a slim molding with one rounded edge. Use it to cap exposed tile on backsplashes, niches and wall transitions. It also works as a thin liner between field tile sections. Sold per piece.

Care & Cleaning

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral tile cleaner with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, bleach and abrasive pads, which can dull the matte finish. Wipe dry in wet areas.

Grout

The ceramic needs no sealing. Seal grout joints with a penetrating grout sealer after installation. Use white thinset to avoid show-through, and non-sanded grout for tight joints.

Expect This

Pieces show slight tonal variation (V2). Set the rounded edge facing out and fully supported. Order 10% extra for cuts and waste.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Questions

Can I use it around a kitchen or bathroom backsplash?

Yes. It is made for indoor walls and backsplashes, where it caps exposed tile edges and finishes borders. Keep it off floors, since the trim profile is not rated for foot traffic.

Does the tile need sealing?

The ceramic itself needs no sealing. Seal the grout joints with a penetrating grout sealer after installation. In wet areas such as showers, reapply it yearly.

How do I order a sample?

Will it look exactly like the photo or my sample?

Your sample shows the color and finish in your own space, which is the best way to judge it. This ceramic has slight piece-to-piece tonal variation (V2), so pieces can differ a little from one another and from the photo.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
