Pure white marble with a fine crystal texture and a soft honed finish, in a 4 × 12 subway format.

Thassos White is a white marble with a fine, sugar-like crystal texture and very little veining. The honed finish is smooth and matte, so the white reads calm and soft rather than glossy.

The 4 × 12 format suits stacked or offset layouts. Run it vertically to add height to a wall, or horizontally for a steady, even line. Use bright-white thinset, because gray can show through the stone.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating stone sealer before grouting. White stone shows stains easily. Re-seal every 6-12 months in wet areas and about once a year on a backsplash.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or microfiber mop. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, and other acidic or alkaline cleaners, which can etch a honed surface.

Expect This

Natural marble can show small differences in grain and faint mineral traces. Wipe up coffee, wine, and citrus quickly. Honed marble can etch or scratch with heavy wear.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Where can I use this tile?

Use it on indoor walls, backsplashes, and low-traffic residential floors. Outdoor and heavy commercial use are not recommended for honed marble.

Does it need sealing?

Sealing is recommended. A penetrating stone sealer applied before grouting helps protect the white surface from stains. Re-seal on a regular schedule, more often in wet areas.

How much should I order?

Each tile covers about 0.33 sq ft, and the tile is sold per sq ft. Order your measured area plus 10% for cuts, and buy it all at once to stay within one lot.

How do I order a sample?

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
