Thassos White marble is quarried on the Greek island of Thassos and is celebrated worldwide as one of the purest, brightest white marbles available. Its dense crystalline structure gives it an almost luminous, backlit quality that instantly elevates any interior.

This mosaic is honed to a smooth, satin-matte finish and arranged in a classic octagon-and-dot pattern, with large white Thassos octagons accented by small black marble dot inserts. Mounted on a mesh backing, each sheet installs quickly and maintains perfectly consistent spacing, making it an excellent choice for both professional tile setters and skilled DIYers.

Best suited for bathroom floors, shower floors, and powder room walls, this mosaic is a timeless choice that works in traditional, transitional, and modern interiors alike. Because this is a natural stone clearance item, we recommend ordering a sample before committing to a full quantity, and purchasing 10–15% overage to account for cuts and pattern matching.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Sealing: Thassos marble is a bright white, dense stone but remains porous and must be sealed before installation. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer prior to grouting and reseal every 12 months in shower and wet-area applications. A colour-enhancing or neutral impregnating sealer is recommended to preserve the stone's natural white appearance without yellowing.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Avoid vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline products, as these will etch the honed surface and permanently dull the finish. Wipe up spills promptly — particularly oils, coffee, and dark liquids — as the bright white surface can show staining more readily than darker stones.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey bleed-through on the translucent white Thassos chips. Align mesh-backed sheets carefully, butting edges together before pressing firmly into the mortar. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch. Back-butter individual sheets in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Allow full cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
