Sealing: As a porcelain tile, Volcano Dark is virtually non-porous and does not require sealing. Grout joints, however, should be sealed with a penetrating grout sealer upon installation and resealed annually in wet areas such as showers and around bathtubs.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone and tile cleaner or plain warm water. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products) and abrasive scrubbers, which can dull the matte surface over time. The matte finish is more forgiving of water spots than polished tile but may show soap residue — rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Installation: Use a large-format tile trowel (1/2″ × 1/2″ square-notch or larger) and back-butter each tile to ensure full coverage and prevent lippage. A high-quality large-format tile adhesive rated for 24×48 slabs is strongly recommended. Use tile leveling clips during installation to maintain a flush surface. Set with a 1/16″ to 1/8″ grout joint for a near-seamless look; use unsanded or fine-grain grout for narrow joints.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
