Sealing: Calacatta Gold is a porous white marble and must be sealed before grouting and immediately after installation with a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for natural stone. In wet areas such as showers, reseal every 6–12 months to prevent staining and moisture infiltration. The pale ground of Calacatta Gold is particularly susceptible to discoloration from oils, grease, and colored liquids, so proactive sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, as these will etch the polished marble surface and can tarnish or corrode the brass accents. Wipe spills immediately, especially oils and red wine, and avoid abrasive scrub pads. For the brass elements, use a damp soft cloth only; avoid metal polishes or descalers.

Installation: Install using a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through showing beneath the translucent white marble chips. Use non-sanded grout for joints of 1/8 inch or less, selecting a warm white or cream tone to complement the stone's palette. Align mesh sheets carefully on the wall before pressing into place, and back-butter individual chips as needed to ensure full contact and prevent hollow spots. Do not use a rubber float aggressively over the brass inserts — apply grout carefully by hand near metal elements to avoid scratching the polished brass finish.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
