Stellar Steel12 × 24 Matte

A dark charcoal concrete-look porcelain with a blue-gray cast, in a long 12 × 24 format with a low-glare matte surface.

Stellar Steel reads as dark charcoal with a blue-gray cast. Soft, cloudy tonal shifts and fine texture move across the surface, like weathered steel. The matte finish diffuses light and keeps glare low.

The 12 × 24 format runs long and narrow, with fewer grout lines than smaller tiles. Stack it vertically on a feature wall, or lay it in an offset pattern across an indoor floor.

Care & Cleaning

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral tile cleaner with a damp mop or soft cloth. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, which can dull a matte surface over time.

Grout

Seal grout joints with a penetrating grout sealer after installation. In high-moisture areas, reseal them yearly.

Expect This

Glazed porcelain does not need sealing. Order about 10% extra for cuts and waste, and confirm in-floor heat compatibility before installing over radiant systems.

Yes. Porcelain is made to a consistent color and finish, so your order will look like your sample.

Can I use Stellar Steel on a floor?

Yes, it is listed for indoor floors and walls, and works well as a low-traffic living-area floor. Slip rating and commercial rating are not confirmed, so we suggest choosing another tile for shower floors or commercial spaces.

How do I order a sample?

You can order up to 10 samples per order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days.

How many pieces will I need?

Each piece covers 2 sq ft. Divide your room's square footage by 2, then add about 10% for cuts and waste.

Does this tile need sealing?

The glazed porcelain is ready to use without sealing. Seal the grout joints after installation, and reseal yearly in high-moisture areas.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
