Sealing: Both Carrara and Thassos marble are porous and must be sealed before grouting and after installation. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers; Thassos in particular, despite its density, benefits from consistent sealing to prevent grout haze and moisture absorption at joints.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge only — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaner, as these will etch the polished surface of both marbles instantly. Wipe up spills promptly, especially acidic substances like wine, citrus, or soap scum, to preserve the high-gloss finish.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey bleed-through on the Thassos pieces, which are translucent enough to show dark adhesive beneath. Choose non-sanded grout for the fine joints typical of mosaic work, and align mesh sheets carefully on a flat surface before pressing. Back-butter individual sheets for full coverage in wet applications, and allow full cure before exposing to water.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care

Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
