Sealing: Statuario marble must be sealed before grouting and regularly maintained with a penetrating stone sealer. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 6–12 months to prevent moisture penetration and staining. Because of its bright white ground, Statuario is particularly vulnerable to oil, wine, and acidic stains, so prompt sealing and maintenance are essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acid-based or abrasive cleaner, as these will etch the polished surface and permanently dull its finish. Wipe spills immediately, especially acidic substances such as citrus juice, coffee, and wine, which can etch polished Statuario very quickly. Avoid steam mops on polished marble floors.

Installation: Use bright white large-format thinset mortar to prevent any grey bleed-through on this pale stone. Back-butter each tile fully to ensure 95% or greater mortar coverage, which is critical for large 18×36 tiles to prevent lippage and hollow spots. Use a 1/8–3/16 inch grout joint with unsanded or fine-sanded white grout, and mix tiles from multiple boxes throughout installation to blend natural variation evenly across the floor or wall.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
