Sealing: Both Calacatta Gold and Thassos marble are porous and must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a premium penetrating stone sealer. In wet areas such as showers, re-seal every 6–12 months to prevent moisture intrusion, staining, and grout haze absorption. Thassos, while dense, is particularly susceptible to yellowing from improper sealers — always use a color-enhancing or neutral-cure penetrating sealer.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft, non-abrasive cloth or mop only. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based), bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, which will etch the polished surface and dull the finish permanently. Wipe spills — especially oils, wine, and coffee — immediately, as the polished Calacatta Gold surface is more susceptible to etching and staining than honed finishes.

Installation: Always use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray or pigmented adhesive from telegraphing through the pale, semi-translucent Thassos chips. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch to avoid scratching the polished surface. Back-butter each mesh sheet in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate for full adhesion. Align mesh sheets carefully before pressing to maintain consistent pattern flow across sheet seams.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
