About Crema Perlino Limestone Pencil Liner Trim

Material Education

Crema Perlino is a warm, creamy beige limestone quarried in Europe, prized for its soft, uniform tone and subtle fossiliferous texture. Its gentle ivory and sand hues are laced with delicate natural veining and micro-shell inclusions that lend an organic, artisanal character to any surface. The honed finish delivers a smooth, matte sheen that feels refined without being reflective.

As a genuine natural stone, Crema Perlino carries slight tonal shifts and texture variations from piece to piece — these nuances are the hallmark of authentic limestone and contribute to its timeless, hand-crafted appeal.

About this molding: This 3/4×12 pencil liner is a slender, elongated trim molding honed to a smooth finish, designed to create clean linear transitions between tile fields, frame accent walls, or provide elegant border detail along backsplashes and shower niches. Sold per linear foot, it installs quickly as a single piece for precise, polished edging.

Design & Inspiration

Crema Perlino's warm ivory and biscuit palette pairs beautifully with brushed brass or matte gold fixtures, warm white cabinetry, white oak vanities, and soft greige grout, making it an ideal accent in transitional, Mediterranean, and understated contemporary interiors. It complements both cooler stones like Thassos white marble and warmer travertines with equal grace.

A 3/4×12 pencil liner is especially impactful when used as a horizontal border to break up large-format tile fields in a shower, or as a framing element around a backsplash niche — the narrow profile adds architectural definition without competing with the primary tile. Its matte honed surface keeps the look grounded and spa-like rather than formal.

Popular design combinations: pair this Crema Perlino pencil liner with 12×24 honed Crema Perlino field tiles and brushed brass fixtures for a warm, cohesive spa bathroom. Explore the full Limestone collection for coordinating sizes, and browse more stone moldings & trims for complementary looks.

The Crema Perlino Limestone 3/4×12 Pencil Liner is crafted from a warm, fossil-rich European limestone celebrated for its creamy beige tones, subtle natural veining, and delicate shell inclusions that give it an unmistakable organic texture.

Finished with a smooth hone, this slender trim piece delivers a matte, understated elegance that softens edges and transitions without adding visual weight — making it easy to incorporate into both minimalist and classically layered designs. Its 12-inch length allows for clean, continuous runs along borders, niches, chair rails, and shower curbs.

Ideal for bathrooms, kitchen backsplashes, and feature wall borders, this pencil liner is sold per linear foot and should be installed with white thinset to preserve its warm, light coloring. Because limestone is a porous stone, sealing before and after grouting is strongly recommended — ordering a sample first is advised to confirm the tone matches your field tile in your specific lighting conditions.

Free Shipping: As a molding, this product qualifies for free curbside shipping on orders over $1,999 within the continental U.S. Orders below that threshold ship at standard rates calculated at checkout.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Crema Perlino limestone is porous and must be sealed before grouting and again after installation. In wet areas such as showers, re-seal every 12 months with a penetrating stone sealer to prevent moisture absorption and staining. Its light, warm tone makes regular sealing especially important to guard against discoloration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap and warm water only. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or anything abrasive — limestone is sensitive to acids and will etch or dull permanently. For the honed finish, avoid harsh scrubbing pads that can scratch the smooth matte surface.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset to avoid any gray bleed-through on this pale limestone. Ensure the substrate is flat and fully cured before applying pencil liner pieces end-to-end for seamless runs. Back-butter each piece fully for proper bond on vertical surfaces, and use non-sanded grout for the narrow joints typical of pencil liner installation.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order 10% overage for cuts, waste, and future repairs. Tile & Mosaic Depot specialists are available M–F 8:30AM–5PM PST at 855-797-8453.

Why Order a Sample
A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

Good to Know

  • Samples are final sale — non-returnable and non-refundable.
  • We recommend sampling before every full order, especially for natural stone.
  • Larger or custom quantity? Contact us for a tailored quote.

Talk to a Specialist

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Questions Before You Order?
Call (855) 797-8453 or email sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5 PM PT. If you're unsure about freight access at your address, ask us before checkout — we'll flag anything that could hold up delivery.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.

Responsibility
Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. We are not responsible for installation, labor costs, substrate conditions, setting materials, product misuse, or damage from handling, sealing, maintenance, or chemicals. No claims, returns, or replacements are accepted on installed material.

California Proposition 65
