Sealing: Calacatta Gold is a light, porous marble that requires thorough sealing before grouting and after installation. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for white marble, and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers. The brass metal chips should not be over-saturated with sealer; apply carefully to the stone portions and wipe brass clean immediately.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft microfiber cloth. Never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers — acids etch the polished marble surface instantly, causing dull spots that cannot be reversed without professional re-polishing. The brass chips are also sensitive to harsh chemicals and will tarnish if exposed to acidic or alkaline agents.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on this pale stone. Because mosaic joints are small (typically 1/16 to 1/8 inch), use non-sanded grout to avoid scratching the polished marble and brass surfaces. Back-butter each sheet lightly for improved adhesion. Align mesh sheets carefully in a dry layout before setting to ensure the honeycomb pattern flows continuously across seams. Avoid soaking the mesh during installation.

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
