Sealing: Calacatta Gold is a light, open-pored marble that requires sealing before grouting and regular maintenance sealing every 6–12 months, especially in wet environments like showers and around kitchen sinks. Use a premium penetrating (impregnating) sealer formulated for polished marble. The bright white background will show staining readily if left unsealed, so this step is critical.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft microfiber cloth or mop — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, as these will etch the polished surface and permanently dull the finish. Wipe up spills — especially oils, wine, coffee, and citrus — immediately to prevent staining. Avoid abrasive scrub pads that can scratch the high-gloss surface.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through behind the translucent white marble. Apply non-sanded grout in joints of 1/8 inch or less to avoid scratching the polished chip surfaces. Back-butter each sheet in addition to troweling the substrate for full coverage and to prevent hollow spots. Align mesh-backed sheets carefully before pressing, and use a grout float or rubber mallet with a beating block to set evenly without cracking the small chips.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
