Sealing: Calacatta Gold marble must be sealed before grouting and regularly maintained to protect its white background from staining. Apply a premium penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers, or annually in lower-exposure areas. The light ground color is especially susceptible to oils, wine, and acidic liquids, so prompt sealing and maintenance are critical.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaner, as these will etch the polished surface and permanently dull the finish. Wipe up spills immediately, especially oils, coffee, and citrus, to prevent staining and etching on the sensitive white background.

Installation: Always use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on this pale stone. Back-butter each tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Use a non-sanded or fine-sanded grout depending on joint width, and choose a grout color that complements the warm gold veining — soft warm white or light greige tones work best.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
